Rainbow Themed Party - My daughters 6th Birthday Party

For people that know me well, they know how much I love to organize and plan parties. I don't only organize parties for my 2 daughters and other family members, I also do it for friends and anyone needing my help.

This is the way I try and organize parties. First I think of a theme, once I decide on the theme, I create a spreadsheet with the following tabs:
Details of the party (Date/time/venue)
Guest list (Adults/kids)
Things to do (Invitations/decorations/catering/giveaways etc)
Things to buy (Snacks/drinks/decors/food etc)

After I create the spreadsheet, I create a schedule to remind myself when I need to do each of my tasks. I always try and do things a few months in advance so that I'm not rushing to buy and do everything very close to the date. I always carry my "Things to buy" list with me so when I see something I need (non perishable), I buy it straight away.

Here's one of the many parties I've organized, it's actually for my 6 year old daughter so I decided on a Rainbow themed party for her.

Here are some of the decorations I came up with, some I did myself and the others I bought.

I printed rainbows on an A4 paper, I cut them up, pasted them on both sides of a cardboard, cut them in the shape of the rainbow and added a string so I could stick them on the ceiling using a blue tack.

I bought rainbow coloured paper flowers to use as a centerpiece together with happy birthday headbands. I also got bigger ones to hang outside.

I then printed some beautiful rainbow sayings, glued them on coloured paper and stuck them all over the house.

I know that the "Candy Buffet" and the "Drink station" are a big thing with parties now a days so I thought of coming up with my own version.

I also had rainbow colour cutlery and plates

I tried to keep the theme going even with the desserts I served. Some I made myself, others I ordered from friends like 'Lil Sweet Treats. I also made rainbow tags for each one.

My beautiful niece made a "Rainbow" cake specially for my daughter.

I also made a rainbow game called "pin the cloud on the rainbow".

And last but not least, all the kids went home with a rainbow party bag filled with lots of goodies.

Hope you enjoyed my "Rainbow" themed party.
