Greater Port Macquarie is located midway between Sydney and Brisbane on the North Coast of NSW, only 260km north of Newcastle, 420km from Sydney and 510km from Brisbane.
We went to Port Macquarie to celebrate Mothers Day this year (2014). On our way, we had breakfast at this really cute Café called "Art Café", they don't only serve food, they also have art classes. It's a really cool place. See some of the pictures we took....
From there we headed to our accommodation at the Flynns Beach Resort in Port Macquarie. We stayed at a 2 bedroom villa which had a lounge / kitchen and laundry facilities. The resort has 2 pools and lots of play area for the kids.
After that yummy dinner and a good night sleep, we headed to Bago Vineyards. They have the largest hedge maze in NSW. Sure enough, we were surprized at how big this maze was. The kids were excited to go and explore the hidden items and musical instruments concealed deep within the Bago Maze’s tangled pathways. See for yourself.
We headed back to our accommodation at Flynns Beach after a long day out with the family. The next day, we checked out, had breakfast and headed to our favourite Beach called "Old Bar". This is located twelve kilometres from the Pacific Highway and 15 minutes east of Taree.
"Old Bar" is like a hidden treasure. We've been to this beach twice before and everytime we go, there is not another person there. We call it our little secret beach. The kids can run around without us being worried that they will get lost in the crowd. We are now sharing our little secret with all of you....
Hope you enjoyed our mini getaway. Stay tuned for more.
