Issa's Travel, Food, Party Ideas and Favorite things..: Kiwarrak Country Retreat at Manning Valley

Let us visit the town of Manning Valley, located on the North Coast of New South Wales. Manning Valley offers magnificent beaches, beautiful rainforest walks and scenic routes. It is a fishermans paradise, with a large part of the Manning River reserved for recreational fishing.

We stayed at a place called "Kiwarrak Country Retreat" located in Taree. I was very intrigued about Kiwarrak Country Retreat when I was searching for where we could stay. As stated on their website, they follow eco-friendly principles such as:

At Kiwarrak Country Retreat they care for the earth and follow sustainable practices. To protect their beautiful environment that’s nestled between a national park and a state forest.

They offer 2 self contained cottages:

One is called the THE ARBOUR which sleeps between 4 to 6 people, ideal for a family. This has 2 bedrooms with Queen size beds / fully equipped kitchen / breakfast hamper / wood burning fireplace / flat screen TV and DVD.

The other is called THE BOWER sleeps 2 and is ideal for a couple’s romantic getaway. This has a an outdoor heated spa / fully equipped kitchen / breakfast hamper / wood burning fireplace / flat screen TV and DVD.

We stayed at the ARBOUR since we had the 2 kids with us. See pictures below:

There are quite a few Cafe's and Restaurants around, but the owners of Kiwarrak Country Estate recommended that we go to "Bent on Food" cafe. You can find them on the Mid North Coast of NSW in the heritage township of Wingham. They carry lots of great products like their award winning Spicy Beetroot Relish, Strawberry and Vanilla Jam, Sweet Tomato Relish along with Marmalade, Roasted Red Pepper Tapenade, Organic Honey, Caramelised Onion and Thyme Jam along with a Pasta sauce made with Ricardoes tomatoes. Lots of yummy things to choose from.

After having some lunch and great coffee, we headed to our favourite "secret" beach called OLD BAR Beach. We love going to this beach because it is very quiet, it has lots and lots of beautiful stones along the shore and the water is pretty calm. It's the kind of beach were you can feel safe enough to let your kids run around and go wild. See what I mean.
